ELECTRIC HOT WATER TANKS

Providing you with efficient, affordable and clean hot water.

Electric water heaters are the simplest and most convenient way to heat water in residential applications.

An electric water heater can save you money and offer you benefits that gas water heating just can’t match. Forget about flames because an electric water heater has none. There’s no pilot light to light—and re-light. And you don’t have to worry about children and pets coming near it or storing things around it. There’s no need to worry about the odor of dangerous gas fumes or carbon monoxide. Venting and combustion air circulation are not required with an electric water heater so you’ll save on venting and piping costs. And since there are no flues, you can locate the water heater almost anywhere in your home, freeing up closet and storage space. Even better, you can save energy by installing your water heater near where you use the most hot water—in the kitchen and bath.Electric hot water tanks have a lower upfront installation and equipment cost, and a family of four can have all the hot water they need for about $1.30* a day, and they're quiet and clean, because there’s no combustion noise, no fumes and no residue.

Tips to Save Money with an Electric Hot Water Tank

Find cost saving tip from our experts.

Realistically, you'll get the most savings by simply using less hot water. Outside of installing a solar system, this is the most effective way to reduce your water heating costs. Some tips you can try to save money:

  1. Wash your laundry in cold water. Today's modern detergents don't need warm or hot water to get your clothes clean. Washing clothing with cold water is one of the best cost saving things to do in your home.

  2. Install a low-flow shower head.

  3. Take showers instead of baths. Showers use around one-third the water of a hot bath.

  4. Wash your hands with cold water.

  5. Repair any leaks. Hot water leaks waste energy as well as water. Why pay to heat water that you'll never use? Ask Joyce Heating for a recommendation on a plumbing professional in your area.

  6. Do not adjust your hot water heater settings. Turning the temperature up on your hot water heater will cost you more money to heat your water. We recommend keeping your tank at the factory setting. If you have questions about your settings, feel free to contact us.

  7. Invest in a new high-efficiency tank. If your hot water heater is over 10 years old, it may be wise to replace with a more efficient model.

  8. Check for cost-saving features. If you are vacationing away from home for more than a week, put your hot water heater to Vacation Mode.
